Pe Werner is a singer, songwriter, and cabaret artist based in Cologne. A true genre chameleon, she moves effortlessly between theater stages, philharmonic halls, and intimate cabaret venues – performing with big bands, symphony orchestras, or rock ensembles. Pe Werner thrives on variety. As she puts it herself:
“I don’t fit into a drawer – I am the dresser!”
Since her debut album Weibsbilder in 1989, Pe Werner has released 20 CDs, written songs and lyrics for a wide range of artists (Mary Roos, Katja Ebstein, Bernd Stelter, Barbara Schöneberger, Stefan Gwildis, Mireille Mathieu, and many more), and currently tours with four distinct live shows. Her second album, Kribbeln im Bauch, earned her a gold record and was followed by numerous accolades, including the GEMA Lyricist Award (Fred Jay Prize), the Goldene Stimmgabel, two ECHO Awards, and the German Jazz Award for her album Im Mondrausch.
In 2021, she penned the autobiography of Mary Roos. Titled Aufrecht gehn – Mein liederliches Leben, it was published in autumn 2022 by Rowohlt Verlag and reached #8 on the Spiegel bestseller list.
Her homage album to Bert Kaempfert, Hereinspaziert!, featuring reimagined lyrics to Kaempfert’s timeless hits like L.O.V.E., Strangers in the Night, and Spanish Eyes, was released in autumn 2023 to mark what would have been his 100th birthday.
In 2024, Pe Werner celebrates her 35th recording anniversary with the album Vitamin Pe, on which she performs, for the first time, songs she originally wrote for other artists. These songs, which she says she once “put up for adoption,” will also be featured in her new live show of the same name, premiering in October 2024.

To mark her 35th anniversary as a recording artist, Pe Werner presents a uniquely personal live program. In Vitamin Pe, the singer-songwriter shares stories behind the songs she originally wrote for other performers – including Mary Roos, Stefan Gwildis, Barbara Schöneberger, Katja Ebstein, and Bernd Stelter – as well as brand-new lyrics she’s penned for world-famous hits by Bert Kaempfert, STING, Bach, Brahms, and Oleta Adams.
With master pianist Peter Grabinger by her side, Pe delivers a feel-good evening filled with favorites, radio hits, and personal anecdotes in a “chat-concert” format. Expect musical joy, delightful stories from life on and off the stage, and of course, that signature Kribbeln im Bauch (“tingling in the belly”).
🎄 “Ne Prise Zimt” – A Christmas Show
As winter approaches, Pe Werner sprinkles a pinch of cinnamon into her musically rich and humorous Christmas program. Known for her hit Kribbeln im Bauch, she playfully explores German holiday rituals – from last-minute gift shopping and snow-shoveling duties to goose stuffing and fireproof tinsel.
Joined once again by Peter Grabinger on piano, Pe takes the audience on a charming stroll through a winter wonderland of pop, jazz, and chanson – all with her unique “Pe-sonal” touch.
🌙 “Eine Nacht voller Seligkeit” – The Music Revue
A glittering musical journey through Germany’s past, from the Golden Twenties to post-war recovery, all the way to modern-day hits. Pe Werner brings nostalgia to life – but not without her signature wit and sparkle.
She sings, chats, and charms her way through this cabaret-style revue, filled with classics like Bel Ami, Kauf Dir einen bunten Luftballon, and Warum soll eine Frau kein Verhältnis haben?
Accompanied by Peter Grabinger, this show also features musical highlights from the 13-part TV series Schön war die Zeit (1998), produced by Süddeutscher Rundfunk.
🎷 “Im Mondrausch” – Jazz Trio
With her celebrated moon-themed album Im Mondrausch, Pe Werner created a poetic, jazzy tribute to her favorite celestial body – originally recorded with the Prague Symphony Orchestra and a Grammy-winning big band.
Now presented in a more intimate setting with jazz greats Frank Chastenier (piano), Lisa Wulff (bass), and Alexander Parzhuber (drums), this show sparkles with swing, charm, and cheeky moonlight.
Expect a whimsical, soulful evening as Pe asks: Why is the man in the moon still single? and declares: The moon is round – and so am I!
