Adam Hall & The Velvet Playboys

Adam Hall – is a multifaceted Australian singer, composer and preeminent trumpet player. In 2005 he teamed up with “The Velvet Playboys” with the plan to form a hip, classic rhythm & blues band. And lets just say: this merger worked great!

Under the name “Adam Hall & The Velvet Playboys” they became very successful in Australia and have become an integral part of the big festivals.

Their International success followed and they toured worldwide from Singapore, Boston, New York, New Orleans and Los Angeles; to France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

They’ve also toured with rhythm & blues luminary Big Jay McNeely and done shows with legends Syl Johnson and Betty Harris. The band is characterized by their energetic live performance, together with a great rapport and humour which simply takes the audience to a new level.

The band is reminiscent of the times of the Rat Pack or Louis Prima in Las Vegas in the 50s – swinging jazz, rocking rhythm and blues and good old boogie woogie! Danceable jazz and rhythm & blues music from the 40s and 50s with compositions and arrangements of artists such as Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, James Brown, Louis Prima, Sammy Davis Junior, Harry Connick Junior, Jackie Wilson, Chuck Berry and the Blues Brothers. They also have whole series of their own original songs from their current albums
