InfoStyle: Jazz, Rock, Classic Rock, Rock’n’Roll, Pop Line UpCurt Cress Curt Cress – DRUMTALKDrums, Stars, Storys & Rock'n'Roll! Freddie Mercury, Tina Turner, Falco, Meat Loaf, Nena, Udo Jürgens, Udo Lindenberg, Klaus Doldinger, and Peter Maffay – what could these very different top stars possibly have in common? That’s right: the drummer! But not just any drummer – CURT CRESS, who is counted among the best and most renowned drummers in the world! Known as the “Master of Big Beats,” he rocked the stage with them and recorded some of their biggest hits in the studio. The native of Hesse, now living in Munich, was named “Drummer of the Year” by the professional press 15 (!) times! Over 12,000 tracks have been recorded during his impressive career, making him the most recorded drummer in the world. This master wields his drumsticks and delivers the perfect beat on countless albums, whose combined sales exceed 400 million copies worldwide. In short: Cress is one of the most well-known and respected drummers in the world – a true legend of his craft. Now Curt, who is also active as a composer, producer, and entrepreneur (Curtiz Music Creators GmbH), shares his most exciting experiences and adventures with audiences: the program is called “DRUM TALK”! And what exactly is a “DRUM TALK”? “These are definitely not drum demonstration shows,” explains Cress. “On stage, I share interesting episodes from my life. I talk about my beginnings as a teenager in Hanau, my early band Orange Peel, with which we played as the opening act for Deep Purple in 1973, and my studio recordings with Freddie Mercury, Ike & Tina Turner, Udo Jürgens, Falco, or Rio Reiser. There are really funny stories in there. You also get to see the stars from their private side. The audience is involved too; they can ask me questions, and in between I show videos of performances and photos, for example from ‘Abracadabra,’ the first record I made with Passport.” With DRUM TALK, he has already played sold-out shows in Frankfurt, Hamburg, and Munich, and this year even performed in Tokyo and Shanghai. At Curt Cress’ DRUM TALK, you experience a genuine piece of rock history, told by someone who witnessed it firsthand and helped shape it with his powerful beats. “Junge Römer” (Falco), “Ich war noch niemals in New York,” “Major Tom (Völlig losgelöst),” and even the signature tunes for Tatort and Wetten, dass…? are just a few of the countless famous hits and titles carried by Curt’s outstanding drumming sound.
All these questions – and many more – are answered in detail by Curt during DRUM TALK. Alongside his stories, video clips of concerts and private photos with the stars are shown. An unforgettable evening awaits: a journey through music history filled with spectacular anecdotes, an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at show business. And of course, there’s live music too: Curt gives the audience a taste of his extraordinary skills on the drums. He is accompanied by other top-tier musicians, including pianist, keyboardist, and composer Chris Weller, who once played with Curt for Udo Lindenberg, the Scorpions, Nena, Chaka Khan, and Gianna Nannini, and Wolfgang Schmid, famous bassist and Curt’s bandmate in Klaus Doldinger’s Passport. For some gigs, Patrick Scales, longtime bassist with Passport, will also join. The show is hosted by Werner Fromm, another longtime friend and companion of Curt, himself an accomplished drummer with the Frankfurt City Blues Band. Enjoy entertaining hours filled with exciting, emotional, humorous, and inspiring stories from the thrilling life of drumming icon Curt Cress, shared in his typically friendly and relaxed style. Look forward to Cress, drums, stories – and plenty of Rock’n’Roll! If you want, I can also make a slightly more “promotional and punchy” English version that reads like a concert brochure or event ad for international audiences. Do you want me to do that? |
